With minor injuries to two defensive tackles in Robert Nkemdiche who is likely to miss the rest of the preseason, and Corey Peters, the Arizona Cardinals have added some back end of the roster depth to help them finish out the 2018 preseason.
The Arizona Cardinals announced the signings of defensive tackles Tani Tupou and Nigel Williams, in corresponding moves the team released tight end Chris Bazile and wide receiver Austin Wolf.
From the team:
Tupou (6-1, 284) played in one game for Atlanta last season and spent the majority of the 2017 season on the Falcons practice squad. He entered the league with Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2016 out of the University of Washington and played one game with the Seahawks as a rookie. Tupou played 33 games in three seasons at the University of Washington and had 37 tackles, 5.5 for loss and a fumble recovery in 13 games as a senior in 2015.
Williams (6-2, 297) originally joined the league as an undrafted rookie free agent with Buffalo in 2017 out of Virginia Tech. He was released by the Bills following the preseason on September 2. While at Virginia Tech, Williams played in 51 games and had 73 tackles, 23 for loss, seven sacks and a forced fumble.
Tupou will wear jersey #75 and Williams will wear jersey #60.
Good luck to Tupou and Williams in their chance to make a splash in the preseason and good luck to Bazile and Wolf in their future endeavors.
