The Arizona Cardinals have been bad. They are looked at as the consensus worst team in the NFL through three weeks in the 2018 NFL Power Rankings.
They have the worst offense in the NFL, by a wide statistical margin and they have already benched
their $20 million free agent quarterback less than three full games in.
In other words, it’s been a long year and we are only three weeks in.
However, the Cardinals can point to one improvement that could be something to watch as the 2018 NFL season continues to unfold.
The Arizona Cardinals, according to K.C. Joyner of ESPN are a top 10 team in terms of run blocking in the NFL.
Yes, these Arizona Cardinals.
Yes, the 2018 Arizona Cardinals.
Yes, I have proof he said this.
The top 10 run blocking teams through Week 3 per my run blocking grading system:
— KC Joyner (@KCJoynerTFS) September 26, 2018
1. San Francisco
2. LA Chargers
3. Dallas
4. Detroit
5. Denver
6. LA Rams
7. Houston
8. Philadelphia
9. Jacksonville
10. Arizona
So, through three games, with David Johnson looking positively human, Chase Edmonds getting tackled in the backfield on a third and two play in the games pivotal moments, the Cardinals offensive line has been one of the best in the NFL in the run game.
Maybe if Josh Rosen can help lift the passing game up, we can see some of the positives of that improved run blocking.
See, it’s not all bad for 2018.
