When Kyler Murray, the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner and Oakland A’s draft pick, decided to throw his name in the 2019 NFL Draft chaos, it opened the floodgates.

This isn’t too much about Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, although there is a small spot of that.

No, instead this is about what Kyler Murray entering the 2019 NFL Draft could do for the Arizona Cardinals options on draft day.

With the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals control the fortunes of Murray even moreso than if they were just going to draft him.

If the folks at BetOnline.AG are correct, then there could be high interest in Murray and the Cardinals could reap the benefits.

According to BetOnline.AG, three teams that pick within the top seven of the 2019 NFL Draft could have interest in Murray:

While the Cardinals spot may be the one that catches your eye, more on that in a minute, it is really interesting to see the Raiders (3), Giants (5) and Jags (7) all as big favorites to obtain the services of Murray.

In fact, it would be a huge get for the Cardinals if all three were interested in Murray and or Dwayne Haskins, creating a market for the Cardinals to garner a huge amount of compensation in a potential trade back.

The Cardinals as the team with the fourth highest odds seems crazy, Josh Rosen! However, with the way Rosen played, the fact that Kliff Kingsbury is in the building and that the Cardinals control the flow of the draft, they could surprise everyone, even if it is in round two.

It seems highly improbably, maybe inconceivable, but never say never.
