For the Arizona Cardinals, finding the right head coach is paramount to the teams not only short term vision, but long term success.
That means, not only finding someone like Bruce Arians who can motivate and lead, but finding someone who can do so for years to come.
That was always the biggest issue with Arians, his mounting health issues and advanced age made him a short timer.
Now, with their third head coach in three seasons, the Cardinals are in spot where a miss on this hire could set them back even further.
So, who do they have lined up for interviews?
Here is who we know and who we’ve heard so far.
Adam Gase - Former Miami Dolphins Head Coach
Zac Taylor - Quarterback Coach LA Rams
Eric Bienemy - Offensive Coordinator Kansas City Chiefs
Dan Campbell - Assistant Head Coach/Tight End Coach New Orleans Saints, Interim Head Coach Miami Dolphins 2015
Kliff Kingsbury - Former Texas Tech Head Coach, current USC Offensive Coordinator
We’ve heard that the Cardinals also have interest in Todd Bowles, and possibly long time NFL coaches Chuck Pagano and Jim Caldwell.
What is interesting about this is that the Cardinals are again swinging wildly in a different direction with their initial list of known candidate interviews.
Gase, Taylor, Bienemy, and Kingsbury are all offensive guys, while Campbell has been only a tight end coach as well as his brief interim stint with the Dolphins. He has been the assistant head coach for the Saints since 2016.
With the known names, who do you prefer?
