The Arizona Cardinals should be coaching the 2019 Senior Bowl. However, after botching their hiring of Steve Wilks and firing him after one season, they are reserved to being like 30 other NFL teams and just getting to know these players from a distance.
Day one gave us weigh-ins, media access and a quick practice for both the North and South squad.
Things we know now.
Andy Isabella, the wide receiver from UMass that has already turned heads, is not going to make it to the Arizona Cardinals first pick in round three.
Andre Dillard is the real deal at tackle and seems to be the most logical fit for Kliff Kingsbury’s offense, plus his fit for the actual team needs.
Two names came up repeatedly in reports: South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel, the 5-11 215lbs dynamo was winning in one-on-ones consistently with his short area burst and take the top off the defense speed. LB Terrill Hanks from New Mexico State was all over the field today. The 6-2 235lbs Hanks is turning heads, fits a need for the Cardinals and projects as a run and chase linebacker at the next level.
Enjoy all the notes from today.
