Arizona Cardinals defensive and special teams snaps in week four loss to Seahawks

After Sunday, we will see a different player at the strong safety position for the first time this year.

Maybe it will be the guy they’ve been playing wrongly at free safety.

Let’s take a look at this weeks defensive snaps.

Defensive Line

Rodney Gunter - 53 (84%)
Corey Peters - 48 (76%)
Jonathan Bullard - 34 (54%)
Miles Brown - 8 (13%)
Clinton McDonald - 5 (8%)
Zach Allen - 3 (5%)

Obviously the Allen injury changed things up this week. No word on his availability for Sunday.

Edge

Chandler Jones - 58 (92%)
Terrell Suggs - 46 (73%)
Cassius Marsh - 20 (32%)
Brooks Reed - 5 (8%)
Joe Walker - 1 (2%)

Here is the thing... Chandler Jones didn’t really play 58 snaps since he dropped into coverage a handful of times. I’ll never, ever understand dropping Jones into coverage. Ever. Don’t try and explain it because you are wrong.

Linebacker

Jordan Hicks - 63 (100%)
Haason Reddick - 63 (100%)

Well, these are your linebackers. Hicks was good, Reddick was... He is improving?

Cornerbacks

Byron Murphy - 63 (100%)
Tramaine Brock - 61 (97%)
Kevin Peterson - 29 (46%)
Chris Jones - 7 (11%)

Peterson is a liability in the run game at this point, however he was far from the only one.

Safeties

Budda Baker - 62 (98%)
D.J. Swearinger - 62 (98%)
Deionte Thompson - 2 (3%)

I guess it is time for some Thompson twins. Let’s go!

Special Teams

Joe Walker - 22 (85%)
Ezekiel Turner - 22 (85%)
Chris Banjo - 22 (85%)
Dennis Gardeck - 19 (73%)
D.J. Foster - 17 (65%)
Deionte Thompson - 14 (54%)
Jalen Thompson - 8 (31%)
Ryan Winslow - 7 (27%)
Zane Gonzalez - 7 (27%)
Aaron Brewer - 7 (27%)
Mason Cole - 4 (15%)
