Week 5: Arizona Cardinals Player of the Game

Paving the way on the ground and through the air, the Cardinal’s first rounder took some positive steps this week.

It was a good day for the rookie, piling up 93 yards on 10 rushing attempts to go with his 253 passing yards and one of the team’s two rushing scores, Kyler Murray flashed some potential that should keep fans excited down the road.

In addition to some beautiful throws, well time runs and getting the vertical game going, Murray also showed he was acclimating to the pros. Knowing when to throw it away and avoiding any turnovers, etc. Yes, these are relatively minor things that are more of a barrier of entry and what you expect from your starter, but it’s positive progression nonetheless and never a bad thing when you see things start to slow down for your QB.

Of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the game winning drive, as Murray orchestrated things to set up the game winning field goal, thanks in no small part to this dime of a throw David Johnson:

And finally the 24 yard scramble to ultimately set up the Gonzalez for the game winner!

Welcome to the Grand Prix.
