Arizona Cardinals place rookie defensive lineman Zach Allen on injured reserve

NFL: Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The 2019 NFL Draft may prove to be a franchise altering one, but in the first year, it has been Kyler Murray, Byron Murphy and everyone else.

That includes third round pick Zach Allen, who was finally placed on the injured reserve today after dealing with a neck issue since week four.

Now, he will have played only 144 snaps as a rookie.

In his stead, the team elevated undrafted free agent rookie Miles Brown to the active roster.

From the team:

Brown (6-2, 320) played in three games with the Cardinals earlier this season and had two tackles after originally joining the team as an undrafted rookie free agent from Wofford. He has been on Arizona’s practice squad since October 3. While at Wofford, Brown appeared in 50 games (49 starts) and collected 174 total tackles, 38 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks.

Brown will wear jersey #72.

Let's hope for nothing too serious long term for Allen.

Welcome back to the show Miles and good luck.
