Arizona Cardinals growth on offense highlighted by games against San Francisco 49ers

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

When you look at offensive stats, the yards, the completion percentages, all of the counting stats, the advanced stats and more, one thing immediately jumps out.

The Arizona Cardinals are responsible for 33% of the points scored against the San Francisco 49ers in 2019.

In 2019 the 49ers have given up 14.8 points per game against teams not named the Arizona Cardinals.

In fact, the Cardinals have scored more offensive points against the 49ers than:

Washington Redskins (0)

Cleveland Browns (3)

Los Angeles Rams (7)

Buccaneers (10)

Panthers (11)

Bengals (17)

Six teams combined for 48 points. The Cardinals have scored 51 points in two games. That’s impressive.

What is more impressive is that they are doing it while being undermanned along the offensive line and getting Kenyan Drake in the flow in three days.

It’s even more impressive when you consider the fact that Kyler Murray is really the only quarterback this season that has had success against the 49ers.

Murray is the only quarterback to post a 100 passer rating against the 49ers.

He’s done so twice.

The Cardinals are 0-2 against the now 9-1 San Francisco 49ers, but when you peel back the layers, you see how far the offense has come.

Not only are they growing, but they are able to do so in a second game against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Not bad for a rookie.
