The Arizona Cardinals moved up one spot in the 2020 NFL Draft order without even playing a game.
That is impressive while enjoying the weekend off.
Let’s take a look at the top 16 picks heading into the 2020 NFL Draft with five games to go this season.
Let’s take a look.
- Cincinnati Bengals (0-11)
- New York Giants (2-9)
- Miami Dolphins (2-9)
- Washington Redskins (2-9)
- Denver Broncos (3-8)
- Atlanta Falcons (3-8)
- Detroit Lions (3-7-1)
- Arizona Cardinals (3-7-1)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (4-7)
- New York Jets (4-7)
- Los Angeles Chargers (4-7)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-7)
- Philadelphia Eagles (5-6)
- Oakland Raiders via Chicago Bears (5-6)
- Cleveland Browns (5-6)
- Carolina Panthers (5-6)
The Cardinals three wins and the tie are all against teams picking ahead of them. It seems likely that the absolute highest the Cardinals will move up to at this rate is seven, as I could possibly see the Denver Broncos winning two more games, maybe this season.
That assumes the Cardinals only win one more game in their final five and the way the Rams and the Steelers are playing as well as the hot and cold of the Cleveland Browns, it seems like going 0-5 or 1-4 down the stretch would be... a stretch.
However, a top six or seven pick could find the Cardinals an answer at some of their biggest need positions.
It will be fun to watch the rest of the season.
