With the first round of free agency in the books, we'll continue to get new and different mock drafts each and every week as we draw closer to the 2019 NFL Draft.
It should represent a more detailed and planned out approach from the mock drafters and give us a closer idea of what to expect on draft day.
CBS Sports did a 2019 NFL Draft roundtable and their experts have the Arizona Cardinals taking the most polarizing prospect in the draft at one and the addressing their biggest need at 33.
1. Cardinals
Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
As we get closer to the draft, the more likely it seems that the Cardinals will, in fact, take Murray first overall. The Heisman Trophy winner checked another box with a solid pro-day performance and now all that appears to be left is the waiting.
33. Cardinals
Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
At 340 pounds, there are questions about whether Lawrence is a three-down player. But don’t be fooled by his size because his athleticism is eye-popping. He’ll join a defensive line that now includes Chandler Jones and Terrell Suggs.
The Murray pick has been talked about a little bit on this site.
So, with that in mind we'll focus on a couple of things.
1. The mock doesn't address the Rosen situation so to me it invalidates the entire thing. I won't weigh in yet on the entire Murray thing, but the Cardinals will not take less than a first for Rosen. However, if you at least want to make the Murray pick, make a corresponding move for Rosen so we can assess the entirety of the situation.
2. They get the Cardinals a huge need filled at 33 with a first round talent.
Dexter Lawrence is a mountain of man who can be a defensive tackle in a 34 defense and kick inside in pass downs if need be.
It would be a huge win for the Cardinals to end up with a player like Lawrence at 33 if they do in fact take Murray.
Grading this mock is impossible because we don't know the full picture. If the Cardinals get something like 17 or 32 for Rosen you have to feel like getting Murray, Jonah Williams (the 17th pick) and Lawrence is a win.
A threesome of Murray, Erik McCoy or Garrett Bradbury at 32 with Lawrence at 33 also would seem like a win.
Yet, that's not spelled out here, so the draft is at most an incomplete, at least for me.
