For many the interview meant something. For others, it reaffirmed their already ardent beliefs. For others it was what they didn’t say or how over the top they were in things that stood out.
In reality, all of it was just another part of the game that’s been played for the last two months with regards to the Arizona Cardinals and the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Steve Keim was bullish that the Kyler Murray and his agent rumors were just that… rumors. Yet, multiple media people squashed that quickly.
No, Murray’s agent wasn’t on the facility visit. Does that mean he wasn’t at the rest of the trip?
Many have focused in on the continued praise of Josh Rosen… signalling a “he’s really good, he’s just not for us,” take from some. Maybe there’s something to that, but I don’t think so. I think it’s more, “Listen, we have Josh Rosen as our starting quarterback, until we don’t.”
They are treating Rosen like the starter until he’s not. Right now, based on the roster, he’s the starter.
The Cardinals know what they’re doing… There’s no question on that. It’s just… they won’t know what they’re doing over a number of different scenarios.
This was a fun press conference, but nothing has changed.
