With the Arizona Cardinals heading into the final week of the 2019 NFL Draft, the team is finishing up their draft prospect visits.
One of the more odd instances of the process has been their infatuation with the running back position and it has finally reached the peak.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals had Darrell Henderson out of Memphis for a visit:
#Memphis RB Darrell Henderson, a possibility in the latter parts of the first round, has visited with several teams in the late 20s, early 30s including: The #Rams, the #Eagles, the #Raiders, and then the #AZCardinals at 33. One to watch.

Now, if the Cardinals were to draft Henderson with the first pick of the second round, no matter what happens with the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, that would be a crazy investment.
Henderson is a dynamic playmaker at the running back position, with game changing, Alvin Kamara like ability, however the Cardinals have invested heavily in the running back position. The Cardinals have invested the fifth most cap space at the running back position in the NFL and have needs at a number of other, more important positions.
It would even be rough to see Henderson at the top of the third round, again even though the player himself is worth the investment, because of where the Cardinals are at in the process of roster building.
However, if you are going for broke... Well, go for it with a guy like this.
Darrell Henderson’s vision, speed, and toughness, he’s something else, and another RB I love that’s part of this deep and talented class. 5-8, 210, 4.49 40, and he’s a junior and we love them. #HereWeGo #SteelersDraft https://t.co/vPPXyWlhZv pic.twitter.com/aEPnsALPYn
