We are in the final stretch of information gathering on the 2019 NFL Draft and the final mocks are coming out now.

It started this morning with Peter King dropping his yearly mock draft on Pro Football Talk in his weekly Football Morning in America column.

Of course, there is a ton of information on the Cardinals in this column, we’ll look at a couple of other points, but I highly suggest taking a read through it.

1. Arizona: Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

We live in a society (I sound like Costanza) that screams “Fake News!” when something seems just too obvious. We need to face reality, folks. When Cards GM Steve Keim walks into a meeting with club president Michael Bidwill today in Tempe to discuss the fate of the first overall pick, they could do a couple of things. They could decide to take Murray, the choice of head coach Kliff Kinsgbury. They could decide to take the best edge-rusher (Nick Bosa)—who I hear is the choice of many in the building—or the best player (Quinnen Williams) in the draft. I’ll be surprised, as will America, if the choice is anyone but Murray, particularly because the Raiders, at four, are not likely to want to trade up for what it would cost...

How accurate is King with the first pick? I went back the last decade to take a look:

2018 Final Mock: Sam Darnold to Cleveland Browns
2017 Final Mock: Myles Garrett to Cleveland Browns
2016 Final Mock: Jared Goff to Los Angeles Rams
2015 Final Mock: Jameis Winston to Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2014 Final Mock: Khalil Mack to Houston Texans
2013 Final Mock: Luke Joeckel to Kansas City Chiefs
2012 Final Mock: Andrew Luck to Indianapolis Colts
2011 Final Mock: Cam Newton to Carolina Panthers
2010 Final Mock: Sam Bradford to St. Louis Rams
2009 Final Mock: Matthew Stafford to Detroit Lions

So, King is 7/10 on first overall picks in his mocks and has never missed on the position, getting a left tackle to Kansas City in 2013, Mack over Jadaveon Clowney in 2014 and Darnold over Baker Mayfield.

So, is King right or is Kent Somers on the right path in Sam Farmer’s yearly beat writer mock?

We’ll find out on Thursday.
