The Arizona Cardinals have finally added help to the defensive line.
With the first pick in the third round, the Arizona Cardinals took Zach Allen, a defensive end out of Boston College.
Allen is the embodiment of a Vance Joseph interior defensive linemen.
While Allen has physical limitations on his 6-4 281lbs frame, his work ethic, plus his football IQ, instincts and first step quickness make him an ideal defensive linemen in the Vance Joseph rotation.
Allen produced for three consecutive seasons at Boston College, six sacks and 10 tackles for loss as a sophomore, four sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss as a junior and as a senior, 6.5 sacks and 15 tackles for loss.
The pick of Allen is one of the most important for the Kliff Kingsbury era, as Allen will be a key factor in creating the right mix and rotation along the defensive line to help the worst run defense in the NFL.
