It took eight picks, but the Arizona Cardinals have finally drafted an offensive linemen, and quite frankly, they may have gotten a huge steal.
With their second pick in the sixth round, the Arizona Cardinals took Georgia center Lamont Gaillard.
Gaillard has worked as a right guard for 13 games and 29 games as a center for Georgia. He was recruited as a defensive tackle coming out of high school.
Gaillard is a bit undersized at 6-3 305lbs, which is why many in the NFL have a hesitation about him.
Yet, when you watch Gaillard play, you see quite the combination of skill, toughness and most importantly, intellect.
He is one of the toughest players in the country, and a nasty enforcer and finisher, but can get overly emotional.
Yet, it is that fine line that he walks that makes him someone to not count out in the NFL, despite being a bit undersized.
He was the heart and soul of a good Georgia line that helped win a lot of games and get a number of running backs drafted highly.
Let’s see what he can do in the desert.
