Opinions from the Cardinals Community

Hey guys, I'm Nick, and I am starting up a fantasy football brand. I've been a teacher/tutor for the majority of my adult life, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I work tirelessly in the offseason on my draft board, and part of that is understanding schemes and thought processes of general managers and coaches. I'm trying to get a general consensus on how Cardinals fan feel about the direction of their team, the strengths and weakness, and what to expect during the draft. I can grind stats all day, but unfortunately I didn't see a lot of Cardinals games this past season, and I currently don't have the ability to do extensive film study. Stats are only part of the equation, and I also like to intertwine that with film study etc. Here is what I have gathered from my notes and research. Am I completely wrong? Did I leave anything out? Let me know guys. I'm super pumped for the NFL draft and I hope you guys get some gems. My notes:

-Oline is the biggest liability on the team. Littered with capable players that can't stay healthy. Gilbert will upgrade at RT if he can stay healthy. If best player available in the draft is a lineman, they should pounce regardless of position.

-New HC Kingsbury was a "roll the dice" type of signing. He should implement a quick, low ADOT offense. This should help their struggling O-line as they lack a lot of pocket integrity. He is known to target his RBs out of the backfield, and utilize his slot receivers. The offensive line will not allow a lot of deep plays to develop, so they will primarily rely on quick passes to David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. Monitor Kirk's usage and alignment in the offense in camp/preseason.

-Tight end is a need

-A WR in the draft is also expected as Fitz continues to be a statistical outlier at his age.

-DT, Philon, was a value signing and should help the front 7 in both run and pass situations.

-The GM is targeting older veterans in Free agency as he plans to build a core through the draft. Once the draft picks mature, the Free agency signings should be off of the books. The GM is positioning himself to be able to take BPA in the draft as he fills glaring holes through free agency with mid-tier signings.

-Vance Joseph is bringing over his Denver style of defense, but the roster is still lacking talent to replicate the success Joseph had in Denver. Joseph needs another Corner opposite Peterson and another pass rusher opposite Jones to make this work.

-The defense allowed the most fantasy points to RBs in 2018, and will continue to be a green matchup for RBs in 2019

-It is tough to predict WR production against the cardinals because Peterson did not shadow as much as in the past. Expect him to take up one side of the field, and target the opposite side of the field for matchups.

-The cardinals were top 3 against Tight ends last season, and I do not see any reason as to why that would change.
