If you had asked me the first position to see a move at this offseason, I would have said kicker.
The Arizona Cardinals announced today they have released kicker Cole Murphy.
In his place they brought in… a punter? The team signed Ryan Winslow on Thursday.
From the team:
Winslow (6-5, 217) entered the NFL with Chicago last year as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Pittsburgh and was released following training camp. The 25-year old Winslow was an All-ACC first-team selection as a senior in 2017 after leading the conference with a career-best 44.5-yard average on 57 punts. He finished his collegiate career with 226 punts for 9,513 yards (42.1-yard avg.) in 51 career games.
I understand the need for a leg for offseason workouts especially with Andy Lee as close to a lock for the roster as anyone not named Larry Fitzgerald, but is Zane Gonzalez really the only kicker they’re going to have for the workouts as well?
Anyway, welcome aboard Ryan and good luck.
