The Arizona Cardinals continue to enjoy the use of the top waiver spot in the NFL, today claiming linebacker Pita Taumoepenu off of waivers.
From the team:
Taumoepenu (6-1, 245) played in four games with San Francisco last season and had three tackles after beginning the season on the 49ers practice squad. He entered the league with San Francisco as a sixth-round selection (202ndoverall) in the 2017 NFL Draft out of the University of Utah. The 25-year old Taumoepenu played in two games with the 49ers as a rookie.
Taumoepenu (TAO-moy-PEH-new) is a 6-1 245lbs linebacker who has done some work on special teams and is able to give the team another body at a position of need.
With the move the Arizona Cardinals also released rookie undrafted free agent defensive end/linebacker James Folston Jr.
Welcome to the desert, Pita and good luck in your pursuit of an NFL career, James.
