Nothing is worse for hype than mini-camps.
No hitting, minimal work from those who will actually be on the field and then of course the glowing reviews.
However, some of the reviews coming out of camp on Kyler Murray tell me that some did not do a ton of homework on the Oklahoma quarterback.
The awe of his explosiveness and playmaking, contortion and arm angle changes, the arm strength... It was all there while he was at Oklahoma.
Now, I get that seeing in person is different, he’s a different animal in terms of athleticism than 99% of athletes we’ll ever see in the NFL, partially because the things he does he makes look effortless.
None of this is to say he’ll be an All Pro, Hall of Fame type, but as an athlete, there are few that have ever been what Murray is.
