With the Arizona Cardinals done with offseason workouts, the Arizona Cardinals head hurdling towards 2019 training camp and what we all hope is the first of many for Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray.
When the Cardinals drafted Murray, they did so with quite a hole in their skill player positions.
However, they looked to address that in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report ranked every teams supporting cast and I was pleasantly surprised to see where the Arizona Cardinals ranked.
From B/R:
25. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
Because new Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has no NFL background, nobody knows what No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray is walking into. And while the Cardinals have two well-established veterans in their offensive arsenal, Murray’s supporting cast faces a lot of questions...
The Cardinals will need another age-defying season from Fitz, and they’ll need Johnson to rediscover that 2016 magic. Otherwise, Murray will be relying on far too many unproven skill-position players.
Gagnon goes through all of the potential key contributors as well in the article, so make sure to check out the article, but I thought seeing the Cardinals with really only Fitz and DJ as knowns was interesting.
The Cardinals have some intriguing rookie and young talent, but as far as proven, it is just the two.
So, to see the Cardinals not at the very bottom means that Fitz still gives the Cardinals something close to a WR1 and that David Johnson boucnes back to be the talent we saw in 2015 and 2016.
What do you think?
