This offseason Steve Keim has used the first overall pick to his advantage, adding considerable talent either in the NFL draft or off of the waiver wire.
And now, he and the Cardinals strike again and take advantage of their first pick in order to add a safety in the NFL Supplemental draft.

Thompson reportedly lost his final year of NCAA eligibility after taking an over-the-counter supplement and entered the draft.
Off-field? You be the judge, but Arizona clearly liked Thompson enough to select him and seemed to feel comfortable enough with what he said after a reported meeting with the team.
According to a source, #WSU's Jalen Thompson lost his final year of eligibility because he purchased an over the counter supplement at a nutrition store. The source made a point to emphasize it was not a steroid Thompson bought. Will gather more details as they become available.

Thompson had previously worked out and took a physical with the Green Bay Packers.
Arizona will surrender one of two 5th round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft in order to add Thompson to the roster. They still have one pick remaining from the Josh Rosen Miami Dolphins trade.

Thompson played both nickel and free safety for the Cougars and was a 3-year starter for the program and was projected as a mid-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
What are your thoughts on another addition to the 2019 Draft Class, Birdgang?
