We’re onto the Oakland Raiders.

Thursday’s nationally televised game between the Oakland Raiders and your Arizona Cardinals will hopefully give us a bit more Kyler Murray and that first team offense.

Until then, there are two practices this week, but only Monday’s is open to the public.

So, get out there early today, 10:50 a.m. start time and enjoy.

However, here are five things from Sunday’s practice.

  1. Couple players had a day off to grieve - With the passing of Darryl Drake, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals and currently the wide receiver coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Larry Fitzgerald and Marcus Gilbert were absent from today’s practice. We wish all of those dealing with the sudden loss of Coach Drake our deepest condolences.
  2. Off PUP but not practicing - Brandon Williams and Charles Clay were taken off the PUP, but only Williams was on the field on Sunday in a limited capacity. No signs of Charles Clay yet.
  3. We got to see the starting secondary today - Budda Baker was back, Byron Murphy was back and Patrick Peterson had the day off, which meant the started were Robert Alford and Tramaine Brock. Murphy playing nickel.
  4. There’s a lot to Kliff Kingsbury’s offense - People who have not watched must Texas Tech over the years, and I don’t necessarily blame them, like to act as though Kliff didn’t have a ton of pro wrinkles up his sleeve already. Now, he’ll be able to mix them in even more because he has much more talent on offense.
  5. Which means getting fancy in the running game with some old school stuff - Again, Kliff is one of the more innovative and imaginative coaches out there. There’s a reason football minds like Bill Belichick and Sean McVay wanted Kingsbury on their staff. He’s an adapter. He’s someone who molds his plans week to week and will show something early in the season to use something different later in the season. Cardinals fans should be very excited about what is about to happen in Arizona.

Have a good day everyone.
