Except, according to both national and local reporters, the Arizona Cardinals have not signed Michael Crabtree to a contract.
The #AZCardinals worked out veteran FA WR Michael Crabtree earlier today, source said, but there are no plans to sign him at this time. Some due diligence from Arizona.

Free agent wide receiver Michael Crabtree was in for a visit with the Arizona Cardinals today but has not agreed to a deal at this point.

So, in the end the Arizona Cardinals had a couple of wide receivers in for workouts, including Michael Crabtree, but have not officially signed anyone at this point.
That means... nothing at this point. The Cardinals and Crabtree could actually still sign a contract, or the Cardinals could sign another wide receiver they worked out, or the Cardinals could sign no one.
This is to say, the Cardinals do not need to add a wide receiver, but they could feel like someone like Crabtree offers a greater option for the team early in the season than that of KeeSean Johnson, Andy Isabella and Hakeem Butler.
Or, they may want someone over Kevin White or Chad Williams or Trent Shefield.
In the end, the Cardinals have not signed Crabtree... yet.
