2020 NFL Draft losing some star power as players stay in college

NCAA Football: Alabama at Auburn John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

The 2020 NFL Draft seems to be a different beast than that of many in years past.

This draft, we have a plethora of talent heading back to school.

On Friday, star Clemson running back Travis Etienne decided to head back to Death Valley, he joins Alabama stars Devonta Smith and Najee Harris, as well as two big time weapons from Oklahoma State in Chubba Hubbard and Tylan Wallace.

All of a sudden, there are five players who were talked about on day one and day two out of the draft.

The two positions, running back and wide receiver are two positions where the Cardinals need an infusion of talent as well.

It’s not just the Cardinals though, there will be plenty of teams now having to decide if going wide receiver early is better than offensive tackle.

If cornerback is ahead wide receiver still.

It will also make potential late day two and early day three players a bit more coveted.

It’s only January, but this offseason is shaping up to be a very intriguing one for the Cardinals.
