The Arizona Cardinals made two roster moves on Saturday elevating running back Jonathan Ward and cornerback Jace Whittaker to the active roster for Sunday.

Ward (6-0, 202) played last week against Detroit after being elevated to the active roster from the practice squad. He originally joined the Cardinals as an undrafted rookie free agent from Central Michigan. Ward finished his college career with 2,539 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns on 473 carries (5.4-yard avg.) in 42 games while also catching 98 passes for 909 yards and four touchdowns. He ran for a career-high 1,108 yards and 15 touchdowns while starting all 12 games as a senior in 2019.
Whittaker (5-11, 185) signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Arizona and joined the team’s practice squad following training camp. He played in 49 games (32 starts) during his collegiate career, including starting all 12 games as a senior in 2019 when had three interceptions to go along with 55 tackles, six passes defensed and one sack. The 25-year old Whittaker finished his career at Arizona with 159 tackles (137 solo), seven interceptions, 34 passes defensed, six tackles for loss and one sack.
Ward will wear jersey #38 and Whittaker will wear jersey #39.
