Mike Davis was, going back to his days as a draft prospect, a fun player to watch for me. Back then, I thought I saw a bit of Frank Gore in him. While he hasn’t quite lived up to that, it’s cool to see him given the chance after bouncing around the league, finally ending up with the unenviable position of making up for Christian McCaffrey’s absence.
And yesterday, he did just that. Plowing through the Cardinals to the tune of 84 yards and a score on 16 carries and hauling in another 27 through the air, Davis gave the Redbirds fits as the Panthers walked off with the W.

Honorable mention to Deandre Hopkins, while it wasn’t the performance we’re used to seeing from him, it’s still a notable effort to lead the team on a bum ankle. Get better, DHop!
And a shoutout to rookie Leki Fotu, it wasn’t a especially noteworthy performance, I liked the effort from the fourth rounder in limited snaps.
What do you have as the player of the game?
