We knew yesterday morning about the positive test of Larry Fitzgerald that was reported by some NFL analysts.

The team last night confirmed that Fitz would be placed on the Covid-19 reserve list, but he was not the only player.

Trent Sherfield will also be on the Covid-19 reserve list for the game against the New England Patriots.

From the team:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has placed wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Trent Sherfield on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

This reserve list category was created for a player with a positive test for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, his club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.

We all know what Fitz brings to this team, but Sherfield is a significant special teams contributor who will be missed on Sunday.

Let’s hope both get good results moving forward.
