Arizona Cardinals activate Jalen Thompson from injured reserve

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Arizona Cardinals Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

While the Arizona Cardinals will be without cornerback Byron Murphy and edge rusher Devon Kennard in their matchup with the Miami Dolphins, there is some good news.

The team announced the return of safety Jalen Thompson this morning.

From the team:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has activated safety Jalen Thompson from the injured reserve/designated for return list.

Thompson (5-11, 190) was originally placed on injured reserve (ankle) on September 17 after the team’s season opener against San Francisco. He played 15 games (nine starts) last season as a rookie after joining the team as a supplemental draft pick out of Washington State. Thompson had 63 tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed with the Cardinals as a rookie in 2019.

Thompson will wear jersey #34.

Thompson's return will be a welcomed return for the Cardinals who have been playing very well, but need to start getting healthy for the back half of the schedule that should see them fighting not only for the playoffs, but a chance to win the NFC West.

Welcome back, Jalen.
