The Arizona Cardinals still aren’t ready for the big time. They had a shot to take over first place in the NFC West and instead gagged away a 31-24 lead and lose to the Miami Dolphins 34-31.
Plenty of blame go go around here, but the effort by Kliff Kingsbury on a couple of third and fourth and shorts in the fourth quarter, combined with a sieve like defensive performance spoiled what was one of the better offensive performances by the Cardinals and Kyler Murray.
The Dolphins had their way most of the game when they had the ball on offense, carving up the Cardinals defense.
The key to the game and the reason for the final score is simply because the Dolphins made one big play on defense and the Cardinals could not.
The Cardinals now host a Buffalo Bills team that just beat down the Seattle Seahawks to give them a shot to take over the top spot in the NFC West.
Let’s hope for improvement this week on defense.
