I think we all saw this one coming.

Haason Reddick was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his historic performance against the New York Giants.

From the team:

This is Reddick’s first career “Defensive Player of the Week” selection and the fifth Cardinals “Player of the Week” award this season, the most the team has had since 2015 (six).

Last week against the Giants, Reddick set a franchise single-game record with 5.0 sacks while also finishing the game with five tackles and three forced fumbles. He became the first NFL player with at least 5.0 sacks and three forced fumbles in a game since Green Bay’s Vonnie Holliday had 5.0 sacks and three forced fumbles in 2002.

Reddick and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald (4.0) are the only players in the NFL this season with at least 4.0 sacks in a game. He is also just the fourth NFL player in the last 11 seasons (2010-20) to record at least 5.0 sacks in a game and the first to do so since Atlanta’s Adrian Clayborn (6.0) in 2017.

Through 13 games, Reddick has recorded 50 tackles, 10.0 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 15 QB hits, four passes defensed and three forced fumbles. His sack, forced fumble, QB hit and tackle for loss totals are all team highs and also represent career highs for Reddick. After not recording more than 4.0 sacks in his first three NFL seasons, Reddick currently ranks #6 in the NFL with 10.0 sacks in 2020.

This is the second “Defensive Player of the Week” award for the Cardinals this season after safety Budda Baker was honored following Arizona’s Week 6 win at Dallas. Quarterback Kyler Murray won “Offensive Player of the Week” following the Cardinals Week 5 victory at the Jets and after Arizona’s Week 7 win over Seattle and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins won offensive honors following the Cardinals win vs Buffalo in Week 10.

Congratulations to Haason Reddick.
