Just at the peak of Dennis Gardeck meteoric climb up the Cardinals’ depth chart, he suffered a season-ending knee injury on the second to last play of the Cardinals’ 33-27 win over the Eagles.
Tough news for Dennis Gardeck. He is headed to injured reserve with the knee injury suffered late against the Eagles. Ends the season with seven sacks in 93 defensive snaps.

This unfortunate news is eerily akin to the Cardinals losing Tyrann Mathieu to a season-ending knee injury during the 2015 season on the last defensive play (his interception) of the Cardinals’ blowout win in Philadelphia. That was in December as well.
There is no info yet about the severity of Dennis’ injury. We have to hope and pray for him to have the best and speediest recovery possible.
Let this excellent video analysis of Dennis Gardeck’s achievements as a pass rusher this season warm our hopes of seeing him help to lead the Cardinals to greater heights in 2021.
As Kyler Murray would say, “Gardecky!!!”
