It was unlikely we would see Chris Banjo on Sunday anyway as the safety and special teams ace dealt with a hip issue.
Now, it seems virtually certain he will not be available, as the Arizona Cardinals announced they have placed him on the Covid-19/Reserve list.
From the team:
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has placed safety Chris Banjo on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
This reserve list category was created for a player with a positive test for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, his club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on player's medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
Whether it is Banjo or someone he is close to, let's hope they are okay and this is a minimal impact on him as well as the team.
