The Arizona Cardinals expectations only went up by a game in their 2020 over/under, moving from 5.5 to 6.5 on their opening line.
Yet, expectations are huge for Kyler Murray’s jump from year one to year two as initial 2020 NFL MVP odds were released and Murray is inside the top 10.
In fact, Murray is ahead of some of the biggest names in the sport including Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Christian McCaffrey.
Murray sits with the seventh best odds heading into the 2020 NFL offseason.
So, before the Arizona Cardinals have made any offseason moves, before they have added any weapons, improved the offensive line or done anything to a league worst defense, oddsmakers see Murray had a nice bet heading into the offseason.
Murray, at 20/1 sits behind only:
Patrick Mahomes 6/1
Lamar Jackson 13/2
Russell Wilson 9/1
Deshaun Watson 12/1
Carson Wentz 18/1
Dak Prescott 18/1
That’s not a bad group to be behind and means that if the Cardinals are to exceed their 6.5 over/under it’ll be behind Murray’s work and could be a nice bet to make this early in the offseason.
Does the fact that Murray’s odds are so low surprise you?
For context, Lamar Jackson had 33/1 odds the week the 2019 NFL season started, Murray was at 50/1.
Huge jump for Murray.
