It is time for Super Bowl LIV.
Today is the day and we get to enjoy the game and watch the two best teams in the NFL duke it out for the chance to reign supreme.
The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs face off today and it offers a great question as you head into the game.
The first question is simple, would you rather have a national holiday the Monday after the Super Bowl or have the Super Bowl played on a Saturday?
Not surprisingly the majority liked the idea of the Super Bowl being a national holiday leading to no work on Monday.
Of course we would enjoy not having to work the day after. A three day weekend? Who says no?
For me, I like the idea of a Saturday Super Bowl.
Hear me out, we give the game a bye week, so it is not as though it is a short week. Instead, we get the weekend to enjoy but also don’t have to create a holiday out of thin air.
The other question becomes, if you are cheering for your team in the Super Bowl, how do you want to watch it?
It is an interesting question because I am dealing with it right now. No, I am not a 49ers fan. Instead, I am friends and coaching football with a 49ers fan, no not a fake 49ers fan who became the head honcho over at Niners Nation like my real life friend Kyle Posey. This is a legit 49ers fan and they decide to host because their team is in it.
I am shocked. I can tell you with certainty, when the Cardinals get back to the Super Bowl in Super Bowl LVI in the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood I will be hunkered down with my family only. They are the only ones that can tolerate the emotions that I go through (there may or may not have been a wall damaged in Super Bowl XLIII) during games.
I can’t even imagine how he’s going to deal with the Chiefs thorough dismantling of the 49ers tomorrow (I won’t tell him I said that).
How would you watch?
