Arizona Cardinals meet with all the big names who could be drafted at eight

Two days into the 2020 NFL Combine the Arizona Cardinals are giving you nothing when it comes to what their plans may be with the eighth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The team has met with at least six players at the 2020 Combine:

Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
Tristan Wirfs, OT Iowa

Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama

Wait, they are visiting with offensive linemen and wide receivers.

Of course they are. They’re at a point where they literally have all the options open with their first pick.

The only “need” is a player who is going to make a year one impact.

They need to find someone who can create an opportunity to work immediately. All six players, maybe minus Thomas, fit the bill as they could be day one starters (I don’t know if Thomas is going to be able to make the move immediately to right tackle).

We’ll find out more as it comes in, but the Cardinals are definitely in the market for anything but a quarterback with the eighth pick.
