After a weekend of things we are told don’t matter, we have some big changes in the most recent 2020 NFL Mock Drafts.
That’s the business.
Dan Kadar of SB Nation’s Mocking the Draft has his newest 2020 NFL Mock Draft up and has the Arizona Cardinals staying with one of the offensive tackles, maybe the most impressive physically of the bunch.
8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
Offseason needs: Offensive tackle, defensive tackle, wide receiver, pass rusher
It’s hard to decide who had the single most impressive combine, but you can’t go wrong saying it was Wirfs. He set a record for offensive linemen in the broad and vertical jumps, and he had the fast 40-yard dash time of all blockers in Indy this year. That was all at 320 pounds, too. Wirfs’ athleticism is legendary. The craziest thing? It’s all evident when you watch him play.
Wirfs would be a nice bookend with D.J. Humphries and give the Cardinals some stability and obviously needed depth along the offensive line.
Wirfs would push 2019 starter Justin Murray to the bench, but having Murray as your lead backup tackle would be a huge upgrade.
Wirfs athleticism would be ideal for Kliff Kingsbury’s offense and give the Cardinals some new juice in the run and screen games.
