The Arizona Cardinals continue to piece together their roster.
They have been aggressive getting good deals with key backup pieces that may have been asked to do more last season.
They also are getting veterans on a cheaper prove it deals.
One is Marcus Gilbert, who the team announced today they have re-signed to a one-year deal.
From the team:
Gilbert (6-6, 330) originally joined the Cardinals last year in a trade with Pittsburgh. He missed all of last season after being placed on injured reserve (knee) on September 10. Gilbert started 87 of the 88 games he appeared in at right tackle with the Steelers during his eight years (2011-18) with the team after entering the league with Pittsburgh as a second-round selection (63rd overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Florida. The 32-year old Gilbert also started eight postseason contests with the Steelers.
It will be interesting to see what the Cardinals do in the 2020 NFL Draft with the offensive line, now with Justin Murray and Gilbert both back and under contract.
