The Arizona Cardinals and Vance Joseph have a type at linebacker.
One of the best matches for the type of linebacker that Joseph covets is Kenneth Murray.
Murray tested out incredibly well at 6-2 241lbs and combined with his work at Oklahoma had quite an array of comps come out of it.
For Murray, the high end is tough. Very few players over 240lbs test as well as Murray did. However, there is one that was very good for a long time that makes sense in Jamie Collins. If you are willing to take the weight down just a bit to 235lbs, which is still within the Joseph requirements, is DeMeco Ryans.
That is a really good high end comparison for Murray and would be a great addition to the Cardinals defense over the long-term.
For the low-end, you have another good player who never put it all together in Thomas Howard. Howard was one of the most athletically gifted linebackers in the last two decades, but lacked the nuanced understanding of the position to become a real difference maker.
Murray is an interesting player with high upside and athletic traits that are hard to match.
With a trade back in round one or an addition of a second round pick, what would you think of Kenneth Murray?
