Only nine days left until the 2020 NFL Draft and the Godfather of the NFL Draft media Mel Kiper Jr. has dropped his newest mock draft.
For the Arizona Cardinals it has been a continuous name with the eighth pick and nothing has changed.
Check out Mel Kiper’s 2020 NFL Mock Draft 4.0 which is two full rounds.
8. Arizona Cardinals
Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
As I mentioned in my Mock Draft 3.0, I like the fit of Wirfs in Arizona, because he could start from Day 1 at right tackle and help protect Kyler Murray, who took way too many sacks as a rookie. Arizona could also target defensive line, even after it signed Jordan Phillips in free agency. If Derrick Brown makes it here, the Cardinals would have a tough decision to make.
Nothing has changed for the Cardinals and Mel since the beginning of the mock draft cycle.
Wirfs is a great prospect with All Pro comparisons and had one scout tell me “Wirfs can be Scheff + if he plays guard. Like Q Nelson good.”
It’s a rare and high compliment and makes this pick fantastic.
What would you think of Wirfs at eight after the first seven picks went:
- Burrow
- Young
- Okudah
- Simmons
- Herbert to Miami
- Tua to Chargers
- Derrick Brown
