Alabama v South Carolina Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

BIO:

Name: Henry Ruggs III

Age: 21 (Junior)

Attended: University of Alabama (#11)

COMBINE MEASUREMENTS AND TESTING:

Height: 5’11’’

Weight: 188 lbs.

Arm Length: 30 1/2”

Hand Size: 10 1/8”

40 Yard Dash: 4.27 seconds

Vertical Jump: 42”

Broad Jump: 131”

STRENGTHS:

Deadly speed and acceleration. Effortless reaches top gear quickly, and said gear will have Ruggs nearly always one of, if not the fastest players on the field. Not limited to one trick as a speedster. Suprisingly physical given his frame. Will play through contact with the ball in hands for extra yards. Natural ball tracker and does well to address the ball. Does not present any catching concerns. While not near the top of his most appealing traits, route running does not appear to present any issues. Potent weapon when utilized on sweeps/reverses.

CONCERNS:

Not the quickest or most physical off the line. Can be stymied too easily at times by press coverage. Limited production. Not necessarily a liability as a blocker, but improvements are desired. Can allow defenders to hang in hip pocket if speed doesn’t win out.

SUMMARY:

Some fine tuning is needed on some for Ruggs to fully realize his potential and while production and consistency are question marks, was a home run threat nearly everytime the ball went his way. Overall Henry Ruggs presents an especially lethal element of speed and quickness in a game where speed kills and is a versatile threat that can score from any area of the field.

GRADE:
