The Arizona Cardinals took Isaiah Simmons with the eighth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
One of the five best prospects in the draft fell to eight because he's not a player with a clear position in the NFL, but what he is is a defensive weapon.
He can do everything at a high level though and that's what makes him a unique talent.
Running the seam in coverage
Covering tight ends from the LB position
As a blitzer he can win with power
He can win bending the edge
He can play free safety
His closing speed is special and should make him a weapon against Russell Wilson
Simmons offers a potential game changing ability on the defense, but he has to be used the right way.
He's not an every down inside linebacker, but he can fold down from a safety position in nickel and dime situations.
Vance Joseph needs to figure out a way to deploy Simmons, but he has a chance to be great.
