The Arizona Cardinals signed 21 undrafted free agents and we’ll take a look at them over the next four or five days.
Let’s get to know them before they are gone.
Jake Benzinger is is a tackle from Wake Forest.
From the team:
“Wake Forest offensive lineman Jake Benzinger (BEN-zing-er) (6-7, 295) played in 50 games in his career with 27 starts at right tackle and 13 starts at left tackle in four seasons with the Demon Deacons. He made 39 straight starts to finish his college career and earned honorable mention All-ACC honors after starting 13 games at right tackle as a senior in 2019. A native of Williamston, MA, Benzinger was part of an offense that averaged 175.7 rushing yards per game and allowed just 23 sacks last season.”
Benzinger started at both tackle spots while at Wake Forest and his size and length are his greatest assets.
The issue becomes the lack of athleticism from Benzinger and at his weight.
Being sub-300 pounds and lacking athleticism is a huge red flag.
He seems like the type that would at best be a swing backup tackle after some time on the practice squad.
What do you think?
