As the 2020 NFL season sits off in a distance, we have nothing but time to pass.
That’s why we will continue to see projections, lists and other types of offseason filler for a while.
One thing that did catch my eye this week was Bleacher Report dropped their quarterback stats projections for 2020 and where they had Murray ranked was really interesting.
First, from the article:
Projected Stats: 365 completions, 556 attempts, 4,276 yards, 26 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 75 carries, 461 rushing yards, 3 touchdowns
That’s an improvement of 500 yards passing and six touchdowns with only two additional interceptions.
In other words, that’s a really good sophomore campaign.
Where would that rank Murray in B/R’s projections?
Yards = 10th
Touchdowns = tied for 10th
The names of the quarterbacks ahead of Murray in the projections for touchdowns:
Russell Wilson
Matt Ryan
Ben Roethlisberger
Tom Brady
Lamar Jackson
Matt Stafford
Drew Brees
Dak Prescott
He is tied with Carson Wentz and Jared Goff.
In yards:
Mahomes
Prescott
Stafford
Ryan
Wentz
Goff
Wilson
Brady
Roethlisberger
In other words, the expectation for Murray is to make a jump into the second tier of quarterbacks
