Arizona Cardinals have $10 million in dead cap space from three players

NFL: Arizona Cardinals-Training Camp Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals sit with about $10.4 million in dead cap space and that is not a huge amount.

That is only about 5.3% of their cap space in 2020, but what is funny is how that dead cap space looks like.

For the Cardinals, they have $10 million in dead cap space through just three players:

David Johnson $6 million

Terrell Suggs $2 million

Darius Philon $2 million

That’s right, that is $10 million in just three players, while the 15 remaining players make up $401,908.

That is actually quite impressive when you look at last season where they had just under $51 million in dead cap space and their top 13 all had more than $1 million in dead cap, including players like Sam Bradford, Andre Smith and Mike Glennon.

We knew the numbers of Josh Rosen, D.J. Swearinger and Terrell Suggs, but remember the absurd $2.375 million from Michael Crabtree?

It is a good change of pace for the Cardinals after previous years where the team was paying absurd amounts to not have players on the roster.
