The move by the Seattle Seahawks to acquire Jamal Adams will be one to watch this season.
The reactions from social media was interesting too, because most people agreed that the addition of Adams is very good for the Seahawks but the cost was a bit high.
Let’s take a look at some of the best reactions from Twitter in the Seahawks acquisition of Jamal Adams.
I get Jamal Adams is 24, but the Seahawks just had an elite safety they could've paid $13M a year to and didn't have to give up two firsts, a third, and a starter for. pic.twitter.com/ZWhCCZeYID— Fourth and Nine (@fourth_nine) July 26, 2020
That’s the big question on the trade, is how much are the Seattle Seahawks giving up in order to get a safety? It’s not that Adams is bad, in fact he may be the best player at his position in the NFL, but it is more that you’re paying an inordinate amount for a safety.
Just a reminder, the Jets were 16-32 in the Jamal Adams era. They were likely winning 7 games with him on the roster this year and they are likely still a 7 win team without him right now.— Matt O'Leary (@MattOLearyNY) July 26, 2020
Douglas moved a disgruntled player, at a non-premium position, and got 2 firsts. #Jets
If you don’t like the Jamal Adams trade from a Jets perspective, I have to know..what exactly would they need to get back for a safety, who wants a massive raise (that Seattle must now give him) 1-3 years early, and who has shouted from the rooftops that he didnt want to be here?— Bob Wischusen (@espnbob) July 26, 2020
Even with trading away Jamal Adams, the safety position isn’t even a huge need for the #Jets— (@NYJets_Media) July 26, 2020
I’m excited watch these 3 ball out in 2020 ✈️ pic.twitter.com/QC3TwYeFCk
Interesting perspective for the Jets, where they believe they didn’t have much they could do and still made out with talent at the position and savings in salary.
What did you think of the trade?
