When you look at the 2020 Arizona Cardinals you’ll see something we haven’t seen in a while.
Contracts that make sense.
There’s no Terrell Suggs, no Sam Bradford, no Michael Crabtree (at least at this point).
Yet, the contracts are not all good.
Let’s take a look at the five worst contracts on the Arizona Cardinals roster starting with the fifth worst.
As an aside, only players on the roster count, so no dead money contracts and we are looking at their 2020 cap hits as given to us by Spotrac.
5. Haason Reddick - 2020 Cap Hit: $4,288,444
For Reddick to come in fifth is actually good when it comes to the idea of him having the 13th biggest cap hit on the team. He’s a bust in terms of draft pick status and his cost is even worse when you consider the Cardinals have had to spend capital on Jordan Hicks, De’Vondre Campbell, Isaiah Simmons and Devon Kennard. Yet, a sub $5 million contract is not actually backbreaking when you compare to years past, or even some ahead of him.
However, we can’t just ignore the fact that Reddick will be one of the 13 highest paid players on the roster and isn’t in the top 30 in terms of on field production at this point.
