Starting off healthy seemed like what we were going to see from the Arizona Cardinals, but on Sunday they made two transactions.
They placed both Marcus Gilbert and Maxx Williams on the active/non-football illness list.
They have not been reported as testing positive for Covid-19 so what they are dealing with is interesting to find out.
They do not have a football related injury, which is why they are on the non-football illness list.
Gilbert is not surprising, as he was coming off an ACL injury, but it’s been almost 12 months since the injury.
Williams is a bit more surprising but it also goes to one of the issues we’ve discussed about the offseason and even training camp. We have no way of knowing what is going on.
For now, the Arizona Cardinals will start training camp with an almost full roster, but could be missing two projected starters.
Not that many are expecting much from Gilbert, but Williams was an integral piece of a great rushing attack from last year.
Let’s hope it is nothing serious.
