There’s not much that is allowed to be said about the Arizona Cardinals training camp practices.
In fact, this week marks the end of the media even getting to watch what’s going on and not talking about it.
That makes movements, predictions and cuts even more interesting right now because we are not seeing anything as fans.
On the Arizona Cardinals highly edited Red and White Practice video from Saturday evening there were a couple of things to ponder.
- KeeSean Johnson WR4? Johnson was among the players that was not on the field much during the “live action”. That’s because most of the work was done by the second and third team wide receivers. Is Johnson the wide receiver coming in to play outside when the Cardinals go to 10 personnel moving Christian Kirk into the slot? Something to watch.
- Hakeem Butler bubble? Butler seemed to be on the third string group of receivers, with Trent Sherfield a special teams guy and the aforementioned Johnson, could Butler be on the bubble?
- Cornerback rotation: Again, not much can be said, but we feel confident that the top three corners are Patrick Peterson, Byron Murphy and Dre Kirkpatrick, but who is the fourth? Kevin Peterson, Chris Jones, Ken Crawley or maybe Jace Whittaker.
- Lots of Isaiah Simmons time: Simmons seems to be getting used a lot in a lot of different linebacker looks. However, it’s not for anyone inside, as Hicks and Campbell both seem to be three-down guys.
Did you notice anything?
