To Larry Wilson, the acrobatic HOF free safety who turned an 8 year old boy in 1963 into a life-long Cardinals' fan, may you rest in peace, O Captain! My Captain! pic.twitter.com/MkK8SvxHKh

This NFL Films Short Documentary captures the heart and soul of the man who revolutionized the free safety position.
On November 24, 1963, when I walked up the ramp at Yankee Stadium as an 8 year boy from Connecticut along side of my dear Uncle Mike, you were the first player to catch my eye. And. #8, you made me an instant Cardinals fan (despite contending with a family of rabid Giants’ fans) and you have remained my favorite player ever since.
I chuckle now to think of you up at the pearly gates running your patented free safety blitz at St. Pete and galloping through the hallowed fields where there are no more broken hands and where love lasts forever.
Thank you, Larry Wilson.
To me, you are the best of the best, and always will be.
